How to Format Your Adventure

The importer reads plain text written like this. It's forgiving β€” headings can use any number of #, and if a bullet doesn't quite match the pattern it's still kept as a freeform option rather than dropped. Always check the preview before saving.

The shape

# Adventure Title

Optional intro or setup text goes here. A > blockquote works too.

## Scene: The Cave Entrance
Read-aloud text for the scene β€” what the DM says out loud.

- If a hero tries to sneak up: Sneakiness, target 10 β†’ success, they get in unseen
- If a hero shifts the boulder: Strength, target 14 β†’ reveals a side passage
- Examine the mushrooms: no roll needed β†’ gives off a soft glow

## Scene: The Whispering Chamber
...next scene's text, then its own bullets...

Rules of thumb

  • The first heading in the document becomes the adventure's title. Every heading after that starts a new scene.
  • Plain paragraph lines under a heading (before any bullets) become that scene's read-aloud text.
  • Each bullet is one option: Label: Stat, target N β†’ outcome, or Label: no roll needed β†’ outcome for choices with no check.
  • A scene that's really a branch point (like "which path do you take?") works the same way β€” just give each path its own bullet, then give each path its own scene afterward. Use the "Jump to scene" control on the Run Adventure screen to go straight to whichever one the players pick.
  • Bullets that don't match the pattern are still saved as a plain option with whatever text follows the label, so nothing gets silently lost.
